Please join the Dialogue and Difference Team for our newest sponsored event.
Together with the Windows From Prison team we will be exploring mass youth incarceration in the United States.
Ending Juvenile Incarceration // In partnership with GMU’s School of Conflict and Resolution
The event will include various policy advocates, researchers, and teens directly affected by the threat and ramifications of teen incarceration. After a short set of presentations, individuals will break up into smaller groups, each with it’s own theme. Utilizing the Dialogue and Difference project’s model of facilitated exchange we will work with teens to propose a set of national, regional, local, and community based initiatives for ending the imprisonment of youth.
Speakers Include:
Ian Kysel, Former Human Rights Watch Fellow, Georgetown University
Jessica Sandoval, Campaign for Youth Justice
Sherri Smith and BIll Casey, Northern Virginia Mediation Services
Melinda Cooperman, Georgetown Street Law Clinic
